Associate Lecturer - Literacy and Language

ACLEA | Salary $64K to $87K pro rata and 9.5% superannuation
The Centre for University Teaching and Learning (CUTL) is committed to student centred and flexible models of learning, and has been a key contributor to the University’s success since its original inception. Dynamic and multidisciplinary, CUTL supports the staff and students of the University in the development of learning and teaching. The Centre also works to bring together Murdoch’s staff and student communities to apply the findings of research and scholarship within a discipline context.
Academic positions within CUTL are expected to be excellent teachers with a current knowledge of sector practice and pedagogy, as well as making a significant contribution to the work of CUTL and relevant University activity, within the context of the University's Learning and Teaching Strategy and Learning Support Strategy.
The Associate Lecturer- Literacy and Language will provide operational support, and contribute to the teaching of, the Learning Support offerings at Murdoch University in order to secure and maintain high levels of satisfaction with learning and teaching and high levels of success and retention for students particularly from non-English speaking backgrounds.
Skills and Experience
A PhD or near completion in an area relevant to appointment, or demonstrated experience working with Higher Degree Research students
Demonstrated experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and evidence of high quality teaching.
Possession of English as an Additional Language (EAL) qualifications or equivalent relevant experience.
Demonstrated ability to work under broad direction only, exercise initiative in undertaking responsibilities and work effectively as a team member.
Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary approaches to pedagogy.
Well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary and collegial team.
Demonstrated high levels of written and oral communication skills in English.
