The Kulbardi Aboriginal Centre is a vibrant, scholarly community that fosters Academic success for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who are starting their university journey, currently studying a degree or continuing their studies at the higher level

The Indigenous Academic Fellowship Program aims to develop the capacity of Indigenous students to embark on a career in academia. Combining valuable experience in teaching and learning alongside supported Higher Degree Research, Indigenous Academic Fellows are a crucial part of the University’s strategy to increase its Indigenous academic workforce. The successful candidates will teach 1 day per week with the rest of the week free to conduct research.

Skills and Experience
Bachelor Degree with Honours (first class) or currently enrolled in a PhD.
Demonstrated academic ability and commitment to successfully undertake independent research.
Demonstrated ability to work under broad direction only, exercise initiative in undertaking responsibilities and work effectively as a team member.
Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary and collegial team.
Demonstrated high levels of written and oral communication skills in English.
An inclusive respect for the intersectionality of Indigeneity and its many diverse expressions.
Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
