We seek a strong and experienced leader in biosecurity and environmental science who can build a dynamic and innovative team through the role of Chevron Harry Butler Chair in Biosecurity and Environmental Science. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate education, research and technical advise through a program aimed at enhancing the coexistence of business and biodiversity, and provide intellectual leadership to attract undergraduate and postgraduate students. Specifically, the appointee will have demonstrated ability to work with industry, government, the community and other academics to teach and research biosecurity and environmental science and will have expertise and experience in one or a combination of the following areas:
Environmental/Conservation Science focussed on coexistence of business and biodiversity

Skills and Experience
The successful candidate must have:
Minimum of PhD tertiary qualification and at least 10 years’ experience in research relevant to biosecurity or environmental science;
A strong track record in publication in high impact journals, evidence of impact in field and delivery of translational research outcomes;
Outstanding ability to lead a world-class research team and a genuine commitment to work collaboratively with colleagues. Demonstrable experience in engaging with government, industry and the community to attract sustainable research investment;
Demonstrated experience in quality teaching at tertiary level.
