The Office of Strategy, Quality and Analytics team is responsible for providing high quality decision support information to the University community. This is achieved by accessing, collating and analysing data from our own systems, as well as information and data from external sources.
The team supports, maintains and develops the institutional Data Warehouse and surveys systems to allow both self-service reporting and detailed analysis by the reporting functions within the team. The office is also responsible for managing and ensuring institutional compliance with various external regulatory reporting requirements.
An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Surveys and Evaluations Officer with expertise in survey design and data analysis. The position undertakes a creative and proactive role in the design, development and administration of University student evaluation surveys and national surveys including QILT and the International Student Barometer. It also manages reporting of survey outcomes to University committees and the wider University community, helping to assure the quality of the University’s teaching and learning outcomes.
This position will contribute to understanding the student voice in assisting the University to improve the student experience. The role requires strong project management skills and some analysis of both qualitative and quantitative information.
Skills and Experience
Postgraduate degree in a relevant field or an equivalent blend of academic qualifications and relevant experience.
Knowledge of, and skill in applying research methodologies, particularly in relation to survey design.
Demonstrated ability to investigate and solve problems, analyse and interpret data, clearly present results and make recommendations to Senior Management.
Experience in designing and implementing qualitative and quantitative approaches to evaluation and procedures for measuring and assuring teaching and learning quality.
Project management skills.
