Strategic Research Projects Manager
5-year fixed term, full time position

Exciting opportunity for an Academic seeking to build a career in Research Management or for a Professional Executive seeking to build project management and leadership experience within the research environment.
The Strategic Research Projects Manager has responsibility for the overview, planning, reporting, budgeting and leadership on governance arrangements for strategically vital research projects across Murdoch University.
Reporting directly to the Deputy Vice Chancellor Research & Innovation the Strategic Research Projects Manager will have frequent engagement with the Senior Executive Group (SEG) to expedite decision making pertaining to Murdoch University research projects. Currently our research priorities include the Australian National Phenome Centre, Chevron Harry Butler Institute and the Centre of Innovative Agriculture.
Candidates for this position will have research management experience, including demonstrable knowledge of the research funding environment, research policies and regulations, managing internal funding schemes, research grant requirements and the broader national research context. Substantial experience in developing and executing operational plans with little supervision and clear evidence of achieving objectives and successfully operating within fiscal and time constraints.
This role works closely with other members of the Murdoch Research Community including Research Institute Leaders, School Deans, Associate Deans Research and the Director Research & Innovation. Other key relationships for the Research Project Manager include external stakeholders such as: Federal and State Government; Corporate partners in Australia and internationally; funding entities; and philanthropic supporters.
