The College of Veterinary Medicine sits within the School of Veterinary and Life Sciences and was the first in Australia to be built as a purpose-designed veterinary teaching and research facility. The College is responsible for the training of veterinary science graduates to enable lifelong professional success. The degree program has received international accreditation and a central part of the training is development of core clinical competencies. As part of this process veterinary science students undertake training in our hospital, clinics and clinical services.
The College now seeks an experienced Equine Medicine academic at either the Associate Professor or Senior Lecturer level to join the team. The role can be offered as either Teaching and Research, or Clinical/Professional Practice Scholar (‘clinical track’) profile, depending on experience and qualifications. Specific responsibilities for these roles at each level, and for each work profile, can be found in the attached position descriptions.
Skills and Experience
The preferred candidate will have:
Veterinary degree registrable by the Veterinary Surgeons’ Board of Western Australia
Board certification (e.g. FANZCVS, Dip ACVIM or Dip ECEIM) to enable registration as a specialist
Experience as an equine medicine academic
Demonstrated experience and success in innovative course and teaching program design.
Candidates applying under a Research and Teaching profile will have a PhD in a relevant field and a successful track record in the production of high-quality research;
